Singapore Arts Festival

YES! ITS COMING AGAIN FOR A MONTH FROM 15 May!

Visit their website for show listing! Hurry book your tickets early to grab hold of the early bird specials! (student concession of 20% off begins on 9 mar) Im especially interested in the following shows,

This is a play where you and another are the only actors and audience. Guided by headphones, two participants perform a half-hour drama at a tale in a public café amidst patrons oblivious to the performance taking place at Dome, Marina Square! Now who say we have to watch in a theatre!?

From The International Herald Tribune: "...if the line between audience and performer seems blurred, Etiquette...erases it entirely."

Did you know more than a hundred people around the world made your dress? Do you know if your handbag is real or fake? Is your shirt really made in Italy or in China? How much does your blouse really cost? Visible Cities explores the high stakes realities of international fashion, globalism, immigration and counterfeit culture that traverses two separate continents and narratives. Im intrigued by the mysterious looking poster. There seemed to be so much excitement behind that plain black poster!

‘Shakespeare in the Park’ returns this May with a sumptuous take on one of the greatest comedies of all time. Bring a picnic basket and blanket and lie under the stars as the park comes to life like you have never seen before. In 2007, over 20,000 people came to SRT’s landmark production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Fort Canning Park. This year’s Much Ado About Nothing promises to be twice as much fun. I only knew Singaporeans are going Fort Canning Park for outdoor plays after my research on the place during my 2nd year project! I've been wanting to catch a play there ever since. Bringing a picnic basket sounds fun isnt it?

Im no guru in dance works but after the few performances we watched in Korea, Im pretty interested in Sutra.

If you think Shaolin monks and the dance stage doesnt go together, you are proven wrong by this! It reminded me of the awesome JUMP Performance I caught in Korea, where martial arts, theatre and dance fused into one great performance. Personally I have high hopes for this!

Click on the titles above for more details! Please let me know asap if you are interested in these (or other) shows! Lets watch them together :)
